FAQ

When is graduation for the Class of 2026? 

  • Friday, May 29th at 6:00PM

Where is the ceremony held?

  • Winthrop Coliseum (1162 Eden Terrace, Rock Hill, SC 29730)

Is graduation practice mandatory for students?

  • YES! Students must come to practice in the NFHS Gym on May 28th at 1PM in order to participate in the ceremony.

When will students receive their Jostens order for cap/gown?

  • Jostens will be at all 3 lunches on April 20th to hand out orders. Early graduates can come to the counseling office April 21st and beyond.

Can students decorate their caps?

  • No, students may not customize their graduation regalia in any way.

What cords or other accessories are students allowed to wear?

  • Students may only wear cords, stoles, or other accessories that have been approved by Nation Ford High School. The counseling office will manage the academic major cords and Honor Graduate stoles and NFHS teachers will manage club cords. If your student has a question about whether or not they can wear a certain cord/stole/accessory, they should ask Mr. Chandler or Ms. Market in counseling. 

How many tickets will my student receive and who needs a ticket?

  • Seniors will receive 8 tickets to graduation at the graduation practice on May 28th. There may be a chance for students to request 1-2 extras and we will communicate details about this as soon as we can. 
  • Every guest will need a ticket other than babies 1 year or under who can sit on a lap. Graduates will not need a ticket for themselves.

Are tickets paper or electronic?

  • Tickets will be paper and cannot be replaced if lost.

Will seating be assigned or open?

  • Seating for guests will be open and first come, first serve. Students will have assigned seating in alphabetical order.

What time can we get into Winthrop Coliseum?

  • Doors will open 1 hour prior to the ceremony, so 5PM. We advise everyone to arrive as early as doors will be closed once the ceremony begins. Graduates must arrive and be checked-in with their row teacher by 5PM. 

What is parking like at the venue?

  • There is ample free parking at Winthrop Coliseum. Since another school will be graduating before us, there many be traffic in the lot when you arrive. Plan extra time for parking. 

How long will the ceremony be?

  • Our graduation ceremony typically lasts 60-90 minutes.

Will the graduation ceremony be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person?

Can I cheer for my student as they cross the stage?

  • We respectfully ask that all clapping and cheering is held until all graduates have crossed the stage so that every graduate's name can be heard clearly. Once all students have crossed the stage, we hope that you will cheer loudly to celebrate our graduates achievements!
