FMSD Parking Rules

1. Parking Permits:
   • Students must have a current parking sticker or hanging tag.
   • Vehicles parked on campus will be checked for valid parking permits.
   • Stickers must be placed inside the lower left corner of the windshield. Hanging tags must be displayed on the rearview mirror.
2. Assigned Parking:
   • Students must park in their assigned lot, and their sticker/tag number must match their designated parking area.
3. Parking Lot Access:
   • The parking lot is off-limits during the school day.
   • Students must exit their vehicles immediately upon arrival and may not return to their cars until the school day ends.
   • Sitting in parked vehicles during school hours is not allowed.
   • Students must obtain administrator permission to access the parking lot during the school day.
4. Security & Responsibility:
   • Vehicles should remain locked at all times.
   • The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items from vehicles.
5. Prohibited Actions:
   • Students may not register, duplicate, transfer, give, or sell a parking permit to another student.
   • Any violation of this rule will result in revoked parking privileges and assigned fines for both students involved. This includes students who graduate early.
   • Reckless driving or using a vehicle to skip school will result in the loss of parking privileges.
6. Safe Driving Expectations:
   • Vehicles must be driven safely and may not exceed a speed of 10-12 mph on campus.
   • Stereo volume must not disrupt the school environment before, during, or after school hours.
7. Replacement Permits:
   • If a student gets a new vehicle, transfers a vehicle, or loses their sticker, a replacement permit must be purchased for $5.00 in the main office.

Violations with a Parking Pass

1st Offense – $20 ticket
2nd Offense – $25 ticket
3rd Offense – $30 ticket
4th Offense – Loss of parking privileges

Violations Without a Parking Pass and/or Alive@25 Completion

1st Offense – $20 ticket + Saturday Detention
2nd Offense – $25 ticket + 2 Saturday Detentions
3rd Offense – $30 ticket + 2 days of In-School Suspension (ISS)
4th Offense – 2 days of Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) + further administrative action as needed

Important:

• Unpaid parking fines will result in a hold on all school records.
• Parking fines must be paid within 5 days of the violation. Failure to do so will result in revoked parking privileges for the remainder of the semester or 30 days (whichever is longer).
