Dual Credit Courses

The Fort Mill School District currently partners with USC-Lancaster and York Technical College to offer numerous new dual credit opportunities for 11th and 12th grade students. 



University of South Carolina- Lancaster

Juniors and Seniors must have a 3.0 UGP GPA to be accepted to USC-L. Courses will be paired together in one high school block and taught on NFHS campus by NFHS teachers. Students will earn 2 high school credits (1 per course) on their NFHS transcript and 6 college credits (3 per course) on their USCL transcript. Students are required to complete an application and submit residency documentation in accordance with USCL policy. 

Courses Offered:

  • French 121 and 122
  • Spanish 121 and 122
  • Theater 170 and 200
  • Criminal Justice 101 and Sociology 101
  • English 101 and 102

York Technical College

On-Campus courses will be offered to students in the areas listed below. On-Campus courses will be paired together in one high school block. Students will earn 2 high school credits (1 per course) on their NFHS transcript and 6 college credits (3 per course) on their York Tech transcript. Students are required to complete an application and submit any requested documentation in accordance with YTC policy. 

On-Campus Courses Offered:

  • Digital Art & Design Level 3- ARV 123/205
  • Media Technology Level 4- MAP 128/226
  • Health Science Level 4 (CNA)- AHS 117/120

Off-Campus courses will be offered to students in the areas listed below. Off-Campus courses will take place at York Tech and will take up 2 blocks in the schedule. Students will earn 2 high school credits (1 per course) on their NFHS transcript and 6 college credits (3 per course) on their York Tech transcript. Students are required to complete an application and submit any requested documentation in accordance with YTC policy.

  • Building Construction
  • Cybersecurity
  • Mechatronics
  • Welding
