Principal Johns' Weekly Message

Weekly Email to Parents

Nation Ford Family,

Have a great weekend with your family!  Below is information that is for the good of the group.  Families who will be joining us next year; I will continue to include you each Friday, just so you are able to get a feel of our school culture and typical events.  We are very excited about spending time together January 24th at Nation Fords Transition Evening, 6:00-7:30.

1. Nation Ford's Senior Class Breakfast: Tuesday, December 18, beginning at 7:45 AM.  The Parent Volunteer Committee along with our wonderful parents is hosting the Winter Senior Breakfast on December 18th.  Please see the sign-up genius attached if you would like to contribute or help out.  We are still trying to hit our goal of $700 to pay for an awesome breakfast for almost 500 seniors.  The seniors really look forward to this event every year.  As always thank you for all of your generous support. .

4.  Please see attached Winter Sport Calendar Nation Ford High School Winter - Sports Schedules - 2018.pdf

5. Please be aware of three areas I need your help concerning our attendance policy.  Folks, I have 5 children in our fine schools, and I follow these expectations just as I am asking you to do.

  • If a student is absent, the student needs to bring in the documentation within five days.
  • Students are allowed to sign out for an appointment and sign back into school only if the appointment is an “excused” appointment and returns with documentation from that appointment. Excused appointments are with the following: physician, orthodontist, dentist, mental health center, court, or funeral. All other appointments must have prior approval by a principal.
  • Students may not be dismissed between 3:10 and 3:40.

6.  Please consider participating in our Chalie Brown Christmas initiative.  We have adopted 20 families in need this year.  In the Commons is the tree with “ornament tags” identifying gifts need for these families.  Our student clubs, sport teams (softball has already done this), or classes are participating as a group and adopting families, which is pretty great.  Guidance will be delivering these gifts 12/19-12/21.

7.  If inclement weather affects Monday's schedule, I will let you know by 6:00PM Sunday.

Have a great weekend with your family and friends!
