Student Activities/Clubs

Academic Challenge - The Academic Challenge team gives students the opportunity to expand their knowledge and have FUN while competing in quiz bowl tournaments. We are a TEAM based game of questions and answers on topics such as history, literature, science, math, the arts, and popular culture. Our main competitive season runs from January-March with competitions on Wednesday afternoons.  We practice during FLEX on Tuesdays in Room N509. Practice will consist of the team breaking up into separate groups and simulating actual games based on the next tournament we will play. We plan to begin practice this first week in October and first pre-season tournament will be in November at Clemson University. Practice is on Monday and Thursday during FLEX in Room C113.
Art Club - Art club provides members with opportunities to express individuality through artwork. The work being displayed in unique ways for the schools, community and members themselves.

Beta Club - Beta Club is an academic, leadership, and service organization.  NFHS Beta Club members consist of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. To remain a member of the Nation Ford National Beta Club you must maintain a GPA, of 3.8 (on the SC scale), participate in service activities, attend meetings, and remain in good moral standing, no suspensions. The club meets the third Friday of every month. Book Club - To expand members' personal literary experience by reading and discussing works chosen by students in a friendly and open atmosphere.

Campus Connect Club -

Character Club - Mission Statement: Improving the character of all students and adults aboard the Nation Ford High School campus.  Purpose: To promote a climate of moral and ethical attitudes and behavior on campus.

Club Unify - Club Unify is part of Project Unify, a Special Olympics education and sports-based program that promotes respect through sports. Project Unify strives to build an inclusive environment among youth with and without intellectual disabilities, as well as empowering them to be leaders and agents for change.                  
Drama Club – The purpose of the Drama Club is to encourage thinking outside of the box, pushing individual boundaries, and becoming more confident actors. Members will develop people skills and learn about leadership that will stay with them through the high school and college careers.  

Drone Club - The Drone Club is meant for students who are interested in flying drones for taking pictures, video or just for hobby. We will also be getting into racing drones. You may bring any drone you have or just come hang out and learn about drones. Contact Mr. Lawhun   for more details.

Environmental Club - Environmental Club brings together students with a wide range of interests -- ecology, nature, wildlife, recycling, habitat creation and maintenance, science, community service, etc. -- to do hands-on projects related to these subjects.  Some of our goals are to expand the recycling program, start a composting practice, beautify one or more areas of the campus, and work with the community to spread awareness about environmental issues.   Falcons Give Back – Falcons Give Back is a service club that helps the school and community. We meet Thursdays during the 1st half of FLEX in Room B113 We help at the Humane Society, donate My Coke Rewards Caps codes to NFHS, collect cans for the Canned Food Drive, host a holiday banquet for the NFHS custodial and lunchroom staff, and organize the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America)  - The mission is to promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer science education. The multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader are the focus for character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) - Mission Statement:  FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) is a Christian organization that inspires students to develop their Christian faith and come together in worship, fellowship, service and study.   We meet the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month from 7:45-8:30am in the Practice Gym.  

FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) - Connects students to the workplace, provides opportunities for scholarships, networking, community service, and improving their skill set. FBLA also have competitive events in over 50 different areas.   

Feminist Club -  The Feminist Club provides a safe space to discuss and learn about the advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of sexes. Male & female students are welcome to join the club, working together toward the same cause- a society in which every member has the opportunity to flourish. We meet Wednesday during the 2nd half of flex in N111.

FFA (Future Farmers of America) - FFA is a student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership.   But FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more.  Students must be enrolled or have taken agriculture courses to join the chapter.  FFA is a national organization with local chapters in all 50 states.  FFA chapter members participate in educational travel, competitions, community service, & leadership activities.

Gospel Choir -  The Gospel Choir is a non-auditioned group of singers that specializes in a single genre of music and performs at least once per semester. The group meets twice a week on Mon­days and Wednesdays during second FLEX in E112. Singers develop skills within the framework of a strong aural tradition and explore techniques of improvisation as well. The class sings in tra­di­tional voice set­tings (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) and is usu­ally accom­pa­nied by a piano. Hand to Paw Club - Hand to Paw Club is a service-based organization that works closely with the Fort Mill Humane Society and any other animal centered community needs. Students collaborate for fundraisers and volunteer time in conjunction with projects within Fort Mill.
Happy Birthday Club - Happy Birthday Club was started by students and run by students to give a little something back to their teachers. The sole purpose of the club is to promote happiness and spread joy to each teacher on his/her birthday.

HOSA - Future Health Professionals is a student led organization whose purpose is to provide opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition.  We will meet the 3rd Monday of each Monday after school in A111.

Interact Club - Service Above Self   Interact gives students ages 14-18 the chance to make a real difference while having fun. Every interact club carries out two or more service projects a year:  one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding.
International Club - International Club helps you explore different cultures and their traditions, by having fun, trying different foods, and much more. It also allows you to meet a variety of people and explore new countries and a new way of thinking.

International Thespian Society - The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school theatre students located at more than 4,200 affiliated secondary schools across America, Canada, and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts.  High school inductees are known as Thespians. ITS is a division of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA).
Junior Civitan - Junior Civitan is a community service organization for students.  Members choose local projects to improve their community.  We try to have fun while working to make our community a better place.  We meet after school in B 514 on the first Monday of the month, and during FLEX on the third Thursday of the month.

Key Club -

Mock Trial - The Mock Trial Club is an association that looks at debatable cases of law that have been settled in  the Courts of America.

Model UN (Model United Nations) - Model UN is an organization in which students have the opportunity to role-play delegates of the United Nations as well as simulate United Nation committees. At the end of the year, students in this club will compete in a Model UN competition at Winthrop University.
Mu Alpha Theta - We are dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students.  Students will participate in monthly meetings, and will complete service hours through peer tutoring.
Music Club - In this club we connect with music and people.  It’s the universal language of the world - come discover it with us!
National Art Honor Society - National Art Honor Society is an academic club for academic achieving art students. These students work to create art for the school and community.   

National Honor Society -  

NFHS Greenway Ambassadors -  We work in partnership with the ASC Greenway and provide an opportunity for the students to give back to the local community by utilizing their time and talents. Students can volunteer in a variety of ways, i.e. photography, media, environmental, and social.

Photography Club - Photography Club provides an opportunity for students interested in photography to come together, share, acquire and develop photographic skills in a supportive friendly environment. Students will be able to explore the potential of all aspects of photography.

Prom Club – Students help plan, organize, setup and cleanup to make the night enjoyable for the faculty and students.

Robotics Club – Teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more.  Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels and culminate at the VEX Robotics World Championship each April.

Safe Zone - Safe Zone is a safe place for gay, lebian, bisexual, trangender questioning others and straight allies to support each other and learn more about the LGBTQ community, We’d love for you to come to the informational meetings to see what we are all about.  

Set Up and Jam - Set Up and Jam is a club for Nation Ford High School students who play guitar, bass, drums, ukulele, or sing and are interested in playing/learning songs with other students. Other instruments can join as well. All levels are welcome, beginner to experienced. The goal is to get better together. Students will also have an opportunity to learn how to properly set up and use their instrument and related equipment (amps, speakers, microphones, mixers, etc). Spirit Club - Spirit Club helps to bring all the students together and give support and appreciation for the athletes at school all while  promoting school spirit.  Spirit Club plans/facilitates pep assemblies, game night themes, Senior nights, helps ABC with the homecoming dance, and helps get the audience involved at athletic events. Spirit Club is one of the driving forces behind school-wide projects and events.   Student Council -

Tech Racing (Auto Tech) - This club is for all auto enthusiasts that pass our safety training program, (Due to safety requirements) that want to devote some extra time to expanding their training in the automotive trade. Meetings will be during 2nd flex, Monday & Wednesday's  

Ultimate Frisbee Club - There are currently no meetings.  The club meets every Friday after school at Sugar Creek Elementary to play games.  The games end between 5-5:15 PM each Friday.                         

Youth for Abolition -  This is a club that wants to educate about modern day slavery and use activism to help stop sex trafficking.

Yoga Club -  The yoga club will meet on Fridays in N114 second FLEX. We will focus on breathing techniques and stretching. or sign up for Remind Text alerts by texting @nafoyoga to 81010

Young Democrats - Young Democrats of Nation Ford High School is a student club that seeks to educate students about political views, political issues, and the function of the American Political system from the perspective of all political parties, with an emphasis on liberalism.  We will learn to discuss and debate issues in a mature way within our own group and also in discussions with the Young Republicans.    Young Republicans - Young Republicans of Nation Ford High School is a student club that seeks to educate students about political views, political issues, and the function of the American Political system from the perspective of all political parties, with an emphasis on conservatism. We will learn to discuss and debate issues in a mature way within our own group and also in discussions with the Young Democrats.
