Principal Johns' Weekly Message

Weekly Email to Parents

October 12, 2018

Nation Ford Parents,

Recently one of my best teachers (who is also a father) told me – “I don’t ever praise my daughter for being intelligent.  I praise her for working hard.  She didn’t earn her intelligence.  But work ethic, that’s a choice; that shows character.”  That made me think: we value what we recognize and reward.  So below are values we celebrate at Nation Ford.

Here are the things I praise our kids for throughout the day at school:

  •     Being kind to each other.
  •     Helping those around them who are most vulnerable.
  •      Being a positive influence on their friends who are most susceptible to bad decisions.
  •     Working hard – I try to recognize this as much as I can.
  •     Being on time.
  •     Choosing to have a good attitude - to be positive.
  •     Using their time wisely.
  •     Being a good friend and good example to each other.
  •     Telling the truth.
  •     Wearing Nation Ford T-shirts (They just look so good in red!)
  •     Obeying their teachers.
  •     Being the first to follow their teachers’ instructions.
  •     Being involved and enthusiastic.
